55 MWh battery storage system goes live in Bulgaria

Renalfa IPP has started commercial operation of a 25 MW/55 MWh battery energy storage system in Razlog, Bulgaria, alongside a 33 MW solar plant. The system is managed by KER Toki Power, a Bulgarian electricity trader, providing aFRR and mFFR services. Nick Antonov, a spokesperson for Renalfa IPP, mentions plans to hybridize over 1 GW of renewable assets in the region.
