‘A level playing field in EU must be ensured’: SPE on measures to support inverter manufacturers

Enphase Energy shut down its manufacturing plant in Romania as European inverter market faces challenges with stiff competition from Chinese manufacturers. SolarPower Europe highlighted the growth of inverter manufacturing capacity in Europe but mentioned the EU's struggle to compete due to various factors. Measures proposed by SolarPower Europe to support the inverter industry in Europe include ensuring supply chain reliability, implementing Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI), setting sustainability requirements, and increasing skilled labor force. The European Parliament approved the Net-Zero Industry Act to boost net zero technologies and solar PV manufacturing capacity.
