ABS grants AiP for Bouygues floater

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has issued approval in principle (AiP) to the OO-STAR concrete semi-submersible floater from Bouygues Travaux Publics for supporting wind turbines of over 20MW in harsh offshore environments. Bouygues Travaux Publics plans to deploy in the US floating wind market as an EPCI contractor with the OO-STAR concept. The design of the floater was based on wind and metocean patterns and meets ABS rules and standards, confirming its feasibility and safety.
