ACWA seeks EBRD funding for 20-MW electrolyser in Uzbekistan

Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power Co and its joint venture partner UzKimyoSanoat are applying for a USD 21.2 million debt to build a 20-MW hydrogen plant in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. They seek financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for an electrolyser installation in Chirchiq, to produce 3,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. The project will be powered by a 52-MW wind farm in EBRD-financed 500-MW Bash wind complex in Bukhara region.
