AEI: Heatwave increases electricity bills by up to 400% for domestic consumers

The heatwave in Bucharest has led to a significant increase in electricity bills for domestic consumers, with prices rising by up to 400%. The Intelligent Energy Association (AEI) revealed that without capped and differentiated electricity prices, Romanians' bills could have doubled, but with the current pricing, it may quadruple. The usage of air conditioning systems contributes to higher consumption and subsequent bill spikes during extreme temperatures.
