Researchers at the Triangle Research and Development Center in Israel studied the use of photovoltaic power in greenhouses growing cucumber crops. They found that the impact on crop growth was minimal and assessed various PV technologies including bifacial glass-encapsulated, bifacial plastic-encapsulated, and semi-transparent organic photovoltaics. The study, aimed at optimizing light distribution and enhancing plant growth within these greenhouses, emphasized the potential for integrating advanced OPV technologies despite current inefficiencies.
