Alpine solar for ski areas

Swiss energy supplier Axpo plans to build two 10 MW ground-mounted photovoltaic plants in Switzerland, with one in Disentis ski area and another in Tujetsch near the Nalps reservoir. The projects aim to utilize local solar power and take advantage of existing infrastructure. The company has already initiated a 2.2 MW alpine PV project and secured a power purchase agreement for it. Switzerland has amended its Energy Act to promote large-scale ground-mounted PV systems in the Swiss Alps, providing subsidies for eligible projects with a focus on winter yield.
