Dubai-based renewables developer and operator AMEA Power has launched construction works on a 24-MWp solar project in Uganda which is touted as the first and largest utility-scale grid-connected solar facility in the West Nile Region. The project, located in the village of Ombachi in the Madi Okollo District, is being implemented by a local unit of AMEA -- Ituka West Nile Uganda Limited.
