Ancala, an infrastructure management company, has acquired a 5 MW biomass facility in Croatia from renewable energy firm Akuo. This acquisition adds a 5 MW green energy plant to Ancala's Central and Eastern European EU Renewables Platform. Akuo, on the other hand, will refocus on its core solar, wind, and storage businesses. Ancala's recent acquisition includes the Elektrana Grubišno Polje plant in Croatia and the adjacent drying facility named Sirocco. Laurent Sessa leads the existing management team, and Chris Lee-Evans, the Vice President of Ancala, highlights that this acquisition doubles the capacity of their renewables platform in central Europe. Ancala has invested nearly EUR 1 billion in critical infrastructure companies, focusing on energy transition and renewables.
