ANRE: From 2026, auction for capacities above 5 MW and guarantees for those above 1 MW

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has approved new regulations for electricity grid capacity allocation. Starting from January 1, 2026, a new auction-based methodology will govern the allocation of capacities above 5 MW and guarantees for sites above 1 MW. The aim is to create a competitive environment, ensure predictability in the energy system, and encourage more megawatts to be installed for generating cheap energy.
