Automating solar PV perovskite material discovery

University of California San Diego researchers have developed an automated material discovery and testing platform named PASCAL for tandem perovskite solar cell technologies. PASCAL enables extensive compositional screening and improves the durability of perovskite absorbers. It automates fabrication of thin films with precision, control, and record keeping surpassing manual processes. The platform accelerates the identification and discovery of novel thin film materials and supports research for scale-up of perovskite processing.
