Avaada wins 1,050MW of PV in Indian tender

Avaada Energy secured a 1,050MW contract in India under an NTPC tender at a tariff of US$0.032 per kWh. The company has secured agreements for over 15GWp of solar PV assets across India. India's solar sector saw an increase in tendered government capacity to improve deployment numbers after a decrease in solar deployments in 2023. Vineet Mittal, chairman of Avaada Energy's parent company, Avaada Group, expressed pride in winning the single largest bid. India's utility-scale solar capacity installations increased by 400% year-on-year in Q1 2024.
