Masdar, a utility-scale solar developer, is set to develop two new solar projects in Azerbaijan with a combined capacity of 1 GW. They are partnering with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) for the projects. The projects include the Bilasuvar PV project and the Neftchala solar plant. Azerbaijan's Energy Minister mentioned that the projects will generate a significant amount of electricity. Masdar has already completed a solar plant in Garadagh, making Azerbaijan a key strategic market for them. Azerbaijan aims to generate 30% of its energy capacity from renewables by 2030.
