Azerbaijan gives green light to 760 MW of solar

Masdar, a utility-scale solar developer, is set to develop two new solar projects in Azerbaijan with State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). The projects include the Bilasuvar PV project and the Neftchala solar plant, totaling 1 GW capacity. Azerbaijan Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated these projects will generate 2.3 billion kWh of electricity annually. Masdar also completed a 230 MW solar plant in Garadagh, making them a key player in Azerbaijan's renewable energy transition.
