Bahrain’s port to host $10 million solar project

APM Terminals Bahrain has launched a $10 million solar power project to make Khalifa Bin Salman Port fully self-sufficient by the end of 2023. The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. Farooq Zuberi, CFO and Interim MD of APM Terminals Bahrain, highlighted the decarbonization plans. Bahrain aims to bring 255 MW of solar generation capacity online by 2025 and targets 700 MW of renewable energy by 2030.
