Beacon Wind cleared by BOEM to test suction bucket foundations

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has completed its environmental review for Beacon Wind, a project partly owned by BP Plc and Equinor ASA, to test suction bucket foundations in Massachusetts. This review found no significant environmental impacts. The project aims to enhance wind turbine and substation foundation engineering through additional site assessments not covered in the earlier approved plans. Beacon Wind consists of two wind facilities aiming for a capacity of 2,430 MW.
