The Apriltsi solar power plant in south Bulgaria, with bifacial panels and trackers, is one of the biggest in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. The facility features N-type heterojunction PV panels with 25.5% efficiency, supplied by Anhui Huasun Energy. It also uses smart trackers to optimize output and prevent damage during high winds. The company behind it, Real States, spent over EUR 200 million on the project, mostly through bank loans. The panels are placed on 2.2-meter high structures, allowing for agricultural activities under and between rows.
