BOEM finalises Central Atlantic review

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has finalized the Environmental Assessment for potential offshore wind development in the Central Atlantic region off the coasts of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. The EA concluded that there would be no significant impacts from lease issuance. BOEM plans to hold a sale in the Central Atlantic later this year and will develop an Environmental Impact Statement for proposed offshore wind projects. Since the start of the Biden-Harris administration, the Department of the Interior has approved multiple offshore wind energy projects through BOEM.
