Brazil's Alianca Energia cuts ribbon on 109-MW wind complex

Brazilian power producer Alianca Geracao de Energia SA inaugurated a 109.2-MW wind power complex named Acaua Wind Complex in Rio Grande do Norte state. The complex required BRL 732 million in investments and features 26 wind turbines with an individual capacity of 4.2 MW. Acaua is capable of meeting the demand of some 580,000 local homes through a 17.7-km transmission line connecting the output to the national grid.
