Lithium-sulfur batteries are a promising energy storage candidate with high theoretical energy density. Researchers at the University of South Carolina developed a method for highly durable sulfur cathodes, addressing issues such as polysulfide shuttling. The method showed outstanding capacity retention and cyclability over 1000 cycles. The team is now working on pouch cells to assess commercialization feasibility.
