The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) partners with iron flow battery specialist ESS Tech, Inc. to deliver long-duration energy storage systems. SMUD secures a $10 million grant for an iron flow battery project. ESS manufactures iron flow batteries using iron, salt, and water for various applications including renewable energy installations.
