California water utility EBMUD flips switch on 4.6-MW solar farm

The East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) inaugurated the 4.6-MW Orinda solar farm in California in partnership with TotalEnergies SE. The solar farm will produce 10 GWh of electricity annually, offsetting 10% of EBMUD's energy costs. TotalEnergies designed and built the facility, which operates under a 25-year power purchase agreement, providing significant energy cost savings to ratepayers.
