CE: Energy market reform will support consumers and industry by stimulating investments in clean energy

The European Commission welcomes important reforms in the energy market to support clean energy transition, stimulate investments in clean energy, and strengthen security of supply and consumer protection. The reforms aim to facilitate the development of hydrogen and other decarbonized gases, provide clearer information and wider contract options to consumers, and enhance energy sharing and protection measures. The new framework focuses on lower costs of renewable energy sources, grid congestion, trading deadlines, and demand side response. It also emphasizes the creation of a market for hydrogen to reduce emissions in hard-to-reduce sectors.
