China begins investigation into EU’s investment barrier for solar PV

China’s commerce ministry initiated an investigation on the European Union’s Foreign Subsidies Regulation, focusing on product categories including solar PV, wind power, railway locomotives, and security inspection equipment. The investigation, requested by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, aims to address distortions caused by foreign subsidies. Meanwhile, the EU has enacted measures such as the forced labour ban and the Net-Zero Industry Act to safeguard its solar manufacturing industry.
