China is transitioning in its energy profile by being the largest consumer of coal globally while leading in renewable energy capacity installation. The country aims to shift to non-fossil fuel sources for power generation and achieve energy independence through energy conservation and domestic capability. China's energy usage is expected to peak in 2030 and decline by 20% by 2050 with a focus on electrification and efficiency initiatives. Solar and wind energy are projected to significantly increase by 2050, reducing carbon emissions and aiming for carbon neutrality by 2060.
