China: Largest pumped hydro energy storage plant in the world fully operational

The Fengning Pumped Storage Power Station in Hebei, China, is the largest operational PHES plant in the world with a capacity of 3.6GW. It comprises 10 fixed-speed units and 2 variable-speed units, enhancing flexibility. The project involved the installation of 12 turbine units and was completed recently.
