Chinese PV Industry Brief: Nation’s January-July PV capacity hits 123.53 GW

The NEA reported that new solar capacity in July 2024 was 21.05 GW, total cumulative new PV installations from January to July reached 123.53 GW. China Huadian Group announced a second round of PV module procurement. NewU Group decided to terminate its planned investment in a solar inverter and converter production project. Shanghai Electric Power subsidiary Xihe New Energy is working on the 200 MW Tokaj solar installation in Hungary. Golden Solar New Energy Technology is investing in upgrading its solar cell production lines to produce high-efficiency PV products for the US and European markets.
