Chinese researchers build heterojunction silicon solar cell with MXene-based hole transport layer

A group of scientists from China's Lanzhou University and Longi designed an undoped heterojunction silicon solar cell based on MXene hole transport layer. MXene materials have shown promise in PV technology due to unique optoelectronic properties. The cell showed a power conversion efficiency of 12.2% and retained 86% efficiency after 105-day exposure.
