In 2023, China dominated the global wind energy market, with 65% of the total wind capacity and six Chinese OEMs among the top ten globally. Leading the sector was Goldwind with 16.3GW, followed by Envision with 14.1GW. The only Western company in the top five was Vestas, with installations of 11.5GW. The market saw intense competition among Chinese OEMs leading to reduced turbine prices. Western wind OEMs faced financial struggles in a stagnating market, highlighting supply chain and quality issues.
