Chinese venture commissions 68 MW solar plant in Bangladesh

Bangladesh-China Renewable Energy Company (BCRECL) has activated a 68 MW solar plant in Sirajganj district, central Bangladesh. The project director is Tanvir Rahman who mentioned the successful electricity supply to the grid. The solar power plant's construction cost $87.71 million and started in January 2023. Khurshedul Alam, the Managing Director at BCRECL, highlighted the challenges faced during construction, especially with the plant's unique design to withstand floods. BCRECL is also working on other renewable projects in Pabna and Patuakhali districts of Bangladesh.
