Thistle Wind Partners has initiated the consenting process for the combined 2GW Ayre and Bowdun offshore wind farms in Scotland. These wind farms, owned by Thistle Wind Partners, aim to support Scotland's transition to renewable energy and are expected to power 2.4 million households. RPS's marine consultancy and survey company, ABPmer, will provide physical process assessments for the wind farms. ABPmer's specialists will model wave, hydrodynamic, and sediment transport environments to understand the impact on the wind farms and coastal processes. ABPmer will support Scotland's renewable energy generation target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045. Consenting for the wind farms is set to be completed in 2025, with construction planned for 2029.
