Consumers Energy agrees 100-MW storage deal with Jupiter

Michigan energy provider Consumers Energy has agreed to receive 100 MW of dispatchable battery energy storage capacity under a partnership with energy infrastructure platform Jupiter Power LLC. They signed a long-term power purchase agreement to facilitate the construction of a new facility. Consumers Energy aims to have 550 MW of battery energy storage systems by 2040 to support their Clean Energy Plan, transitioning away from coal to renewable fuel sources such as solar and wind.
