A group of scientists from Iraq have investigated the use of a hybrid PV and waste-to-energy (WTE) system to support the grid in the country’s Al-Gharab region. The system aims to reduce power interruptions during periods of high electricity demand by strategically placing solar PV plants and a WTE facility. The integration of solar PV power plants with a WTE facility significantly reduces power losses, voltage deviations, and the cost of energy in the region.
