Croatia’s HEP preparing to build pumped storage hydropower plant Blaca

The proposed pumped storage hydropower plant Blaca in Croatia, with a turbine mode capacity of 498 MW and a pump capacity of 489 MW, aims to enhance electricity production, flood protection, and irrigation. Managed by HEP Group, the project will additionally support the operation of the Orlovac hydropower plant and balance the electricity grid using energy from renewable sources. The environmental impact is currently being reviewed by Croatia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
