Danske Commodities has been chosen to provide optimisation services for the Danish power-to-x plant at the Kasso facility in southern Denmark. The PtX plant has the capacity to produce 32,000 tonnes of e-methanol a year and is expected to be operational by the end of 2024. Danske Commodities will be responsible for electricity balancing and optimisation, managing the power consumption needed for e-methanol production. The facility is located next to the 304MW Kasso solar farm and when surplus power is produced, it will be sold in the market. When the PtX facility needs more power than the solar farm can provide, power will be purchased from the spot market. European Energy and Mitsui jointly own the Kasso assets and have partnered with Danske Commodities to operate efficiently and provide flexibility to the energy market.
