Date set for 13GW Maine auction

The US Department of the Interior announced the date for the 13GW offshore wind energy lease sale in the Gulf of Maine as 29 October, 2024. The areas off Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine have the potential to power more than 4.5 million homes. Secretary Deb Haaland and BOEM Director Elizabeth Klein expressed enthusiasm for the clean energy future and the Biden-Harris administration's commitment to combatting the climate crisis through offshore wind energy.
