DESRI flips switch on 80-MW Utah solar farm

D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI) announced that its Elektron Solar plant in Tooele County, Utah, with a capacity of 80 MWac, has reached commercial operation date (COD). The project was acquired from Enyo Renewable Energy in 2020 and construction started in 2021. Financing was provided by NORD/LB, National Bank of Canada, and City National Bank, with tax equity investment from Goldman Sachs & Co. The plant will generate electricity under PPAs with Rocky Mountain Power, a subsidiary of PacifiCorp.
