A 60MWp/20MWh solar-plus-storage project is planned in Zambia by Zambian developer GEI Power and Turkish energy technology firm YEO. The project aims to mitigate power shortages and requires a $65 million investment. It will be located in the southern Zambian district of Choma and executed through a special purpose vehicle, Cooma Solar Power Plant Limited. YEO is a Turkey-headquartered firm with its own grid-scale, 688kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) BESS product via subsidiary REAP Battery.
