A group of scientists led by the R&D center of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has developed a new methodology, Suns-Vmp method, for on-site I-V curve measurements in PV systems. The method aims to monitor the health and performance of PV modules in the Dubai desert. It offers a non-destructive technique using Vmp, Imp, irradiance, and module temperature to recreate pseudo I-V curves. The study published in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews analyzes degradation pathways of PV modules in Dubai desert conditions.
