DTE Energy plans to build a 220-MW/880-MWh battery energy storage system at the site of a thermal power station in Michigan. The storage facility aims to reduce grid strain, address demand fluctuations, and support renewable power plants. The company aims to have 15 GW of renewables and 2.95 GW of energy storage assets by 2042.
