Electrica to build partially EU-funded 70MWh BESS in Romania

Electrica, a distribution network operator and independent power producer in Romania, has received €3.4 million in EU grants for a c.70MWh BESS project in Fantanele, Mures County. The project, with a total value of €21.8 million, aims to enhance grid infrastructure and energy storage capacity. Alexandru Chirita, Electrica CEO, highlighted the benefits of BESS technology in integrating renewable energy sources and ensuring network stability.
