Electrolysers are a small but growing source of US hydrogen production - EIA

Developers in the United States have plans to expand hydrogen production using technologies that make use of electricity instead of hydrocarbon feedstocks. Planned electrolyser installations could significantly increase the capacity for hydrogen production in the US. Electrolysers produce hydrogen through electrolysis, separating it from water using electricity. This shift towards electrolysis could lead to a more sustainable and carbon-neutral production of hydrogen in the US.
