Enecoat, Toyota develop perovskite solar cells for vehicle-integrated applications

EneCoat Technologies and Toyota Motor are collaborating on developing perovskite solar cells for vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV). Toyota will use the cells developed by EneCoat with a proprietary deposition technology. NGK Insulators and Green Science Alliance have also invested in EneCoat. Toyota has selected Kaneka as a supplier for solar cell deployment in one of its electric vehicles.
