Battery makers and cell manufacturers faced challenges in 2024 due to slower EV sales, but the stationary storage market has grown significantly. Stationary energy storage overtakes consumer electronics in lithium-ion battery output. The ratio of EV battery demand to stationary battery demand has decreased significantly. Demand for stationary energy storage is increasing due to various mandates and initiatives worldwide. NMC chemistry is expected to lose market share to LFP chemistry by 2030.
