Engie Romania added a hybrid power plant to the transmission grid in Romania, featuring wind turbines and a solar power unit, contributing to the country's energy transition. The facility, located in the Gemenele commune in Brăila county, has a combined capacity of 57 MW and will generate 140 GWh per year. Additionally, Monsson Group initiated a wind-solar-battery hybrid power plant project in the country. Engie Romania has further expanded its capacity with wind power plants and photovoltaic units. The renewables boom in Romania is notable, with a focus on photovoltaics and the gradual phasing out of coal power plants from the transmission system.
