Engie Romania completes one of country’s first hybrid power plants

Engie Romania added a hybrid power plant to the transmission grid in Gemenele commune, Brăila county, Romania. The plant consists of wind turbines and a solar power unit, generating 140 GWh per year. Engie Romania increased its capacity to 211 MW by combining wind power plants and photovoltaic units. Monsoon Group also set up a wind-solar-battery hybrid power plant in Romania. The country's renewables boom is largely led by photovoltaics.
