EPFL unveils perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell with certified efficiency of 30.9%

An international group of scientists led by EPFL in Switzerland developed a perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell with a top perovskite cell treated with pFBPA. The integration of pFBPA aimed to increase cell efficiency by reducing lead-related defects and non-radiative recombination. The manufacturing process eliminated the need for post-deposition passivation treatment. The tandem device achieved a power conversion efficiency of 30.9%.
