Estonian start-up raises seed funds to scale up ceramic electrolysers

Estonian start-up Stargate Hydrogen has successfully raised EUR 42 million through equity and grants to enhance its ceramic-based electrolysers for producing cost-effective green hydrogen. The funding round includes contributions from UG Investments and IPCEI, amid other investors. Stargate's innovative electrolyser technology, which replaces precious metals with ceramic, aims to reduce the production cost of green hydrogen to EUR 1 per kilogram. The company has operational installations and partnerships with entities like Utilitas. Furthermore, Taavi Madiberk has been appointed as the non-executive chairman of Stargate.
