Euronergy advances planar electrical connection technology to boost PV module reliability

Euronergy, a European PV company, has developed planar electrical connection (PEC) technology to improve the reliability of solar PV modules. Their innovative approach replaces traditional ribbon interconnections with patterned planar-conductive-foils and insulating encapsulate composite (IEC) material. This technology has led to the creation of the U-IBC 2.0 flexible module series, recognized for its lightweight design, low-light response performance, and selection for prestigious awards. Prof. Martin Green sees PEC as the future of PV module manufacturing due to its reliability benefits and avoidance of issues seen with traditional ribbon interconnections.
