Power companies in Europe and the Balkans are looking to boost electricity demand by investing in data centers due to the increasing renewable electricity capacity resulting in a gap against demand. This leads to low prices in the wholesale market, impacting producers' profits. The demand for digital services, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence is increasing, leading to a substantial increase in power consumption by 2032. This surge in demand would affect the reserve margin and lead to a rise in power purchase agreement prices.
